What type/thickness are the retainers?

Our standard retainers are made from Essix™ ACE Material, with a 1mm rigid thickness, which is the typical orthodontic standard

If you prefer a thicker retainer, or have noticed on your previous retainers that you clench/grind at night, we offer upgrades ranging from £15 to £45 for 1.5mm. The range is based on if you choose 1 or 2 sets

To upgrade, simply place your order and contact us immediately with your request and order number, and we’ll ensure your retainers are made to your desired thickness

Do you have a digital scan of your teeth?

Great! We can get that 3D printed for you in our in-house printing suite

Plus, after the retainers have been made, we will send you the mould to keep

Send-in moulds FAQs

Will I save money if I send-in my own moulds

Yes! You have a minimum of £30 if you send in your own moulds

Can I use my current retainers as moulds?

Unfortunately, that is not possible

Will I get my moulds back?

We know how important those moulds are for you. Treating them with so much care that we don’t even work on them directly

As soon as they arrive to us we make an incredibly accurate copy of them to keep your original moulds safe when returned

How do I package my moulds to send

After verifying and having your moulds approved by one of our team members

Use a small spare cardboard box or padded package bag

Bubble wrap is the best for protecting the moulds during transit. Wrap each mould individually a couple of times. Alternatively, wrap each mould individually with kitchen towel

If my teeth don't look like my moulds anymore, can I still use them?

No. In no circumstances and on no occasion will we move teeth. This is the role of aligners. Here at Retainer Xpress, we provide retainers, that are simply dedicated to maintaining the current position of your teeth.
